RPI increase for Feed in Tariff
The first increase of the FIT in line with the Retail Price Index (RPI) figures have been announced by OFGEM. Tariffs have increased by 4.8% in line with inflation.
VAT remains at 5% for renewable technologies
There will be no increase in the VAT charged for renewable technologies which remains at 5%. This is despite the rise for the top rate of VAT from 17.5% to 20%.

In the recent spending review the Chancellor of the Exchequer confirmed the Government’s introduction of the much anticipated Renewable Heat Incentive.
Heat Pumps Go On Trial
WDS Green Energy is not surprised by the results of the recently conducted field trials of heat pump systems throughout the UK. The trial was launched in July 2008 to monitor the performance of 83 heat pumps installed in UK homes for a period of at least 12 months.
